Device Sleep Settings for Uploads & Downloads
When uploading or downloading large files, your computer may go to sleep (or standby-mode) due to inactivity, and result in disrupting the uploads. To resolve this, you can update your computer's power settings to prevent it from going to standby/sleep when uploads are in progress.
Follow instructions for:
macOS (v.13 or newer)
You can use a free utility app Amphetamine from the App Store to keep your device awake during uploads.
- Make sure the power adapter is connected.
 - Click the  icon at the top-left of your screen > System Settings
 - Go to the Displays section (as highlighted below).
 - Click on the Advanced button at the bottom-right.
 

- Under Battery & Energy, enable the toggle next to Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off.
 - Once enabled, click Done.
 

macOS (v.12 or older):
You can use a free utility app Amphetamine from the App Store to keep your device awake during uploads.
- Make sure the power adapter is connected.
 - Click the  icon at the top-left of your screen > System Preferences
 - Go to the Battery section (as highlighted below).
 
In older macOS versions, this section may be called 'Energy Saver'

- Navigate to the Power Adapter section
 - Enable the 'Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off' option.
 

Windows 11
- Go to Settings > System > Power & battery
 - In the 
  
- On battery power, put my device to sleep after > Never
 - When plugged in, put my device to sleep after > Never
 
 

Windows 10
- Go to Settings > Power & Sleep
 - In the Sleep section, make sure to choose 'Never' option for both battery power and plugged in.
 - With this setting, your computer will not go to sleep automatically.
 

Note: You may choose to turn off the screen/display as you prefer, as it doesn't affect uploads.
